The kindergarten students have been studying the book "The Snowy Day" by Jack Keats. In our discussions about the book, we have been talking about the setting and what the students like to do in the winter. Our discussions have also led to what animals do in the winter and how it is hard for animals to find food in the winter. Today the students used corn syrup, bird seed and pine cones to construct little bird feeders. We then took our pine cone feeders and hung them outside for the birds to eat.
