The students had a great time at Winstars Gymnastics. The students rotated through a number of activities such as various trampolines, mats, balance beams, a foam pit and a maze of large and small shaped mats. By the end of the afternoon the students had worked so hard they were sleeping on the bus back to school.

Last week was a very busy week. On Monday the students celebrated the 100th day of school. The students rotated to different primary classrooms and completed 100th day activities such as building with 100 items, making a necklace with 100 cereal pieces, making a 100th day hat, and counting out 100 food items for a hungry hash. During math the students that brought in their collections of 100 items counted them for the class. It was also Valentine's Day on Thursday. The students exchanged their Valentines after decorating a Valentine bag, and we played Valentine bingo at the end of the day. Friday the students took part in activities for Carnival put together by our French teacher Madame Guacasci and the grade 6 class. Great fun was had by all! Congratulations to Ava Wilson who was chosen to receive the Journey To Holiness Award for Goodness. As a conclusion to our 2-Dimensional Shape unit in Geometry, the students composes pictures using cut shapes. For Friday's past Show and Tell the students were asked to bring in their collections of 100 items. This tied in with the 100th day of school which is Monday. The students have been working on making pictures with the two-dimensional pattern blocks as part of out geometry unit. |
