The students had a busy, fun-filled last week before the holidays. On Monday the students enjoyed a Christmas Performance by Matthew Romaine, who uses puppets in his act. On Tuesday the students had Adoration and decorated their cookies to take home. On Wednesday the students enjoyed the movie "Star". On Thursday the students enjoyed and some took part in the Assumption middle school Nativity play for the class and then read stories with the students. On Friday the students performed Jiggle Bells for the concert and took part in a sock hop. In the afternoon the students completed their Elf Application writing assignment and played Christmas Bingo. Great fun was had by all. Mr. Allen and I would like to wish all our students and their families a happy holiday! Sincerely, Miss Riberdy

Last week the students had a full Christmas turkey lunch after celebrating mass at Assumption School. On Thursday the few students we had in class worked, part of the day, on making a Christmas Tree door decoration with Mr. Allen. This past week the students have been working on various aspects of two-dimensional geometry. For Show and Tell the students had to identify the two-dimensional faces on objects brought from home. The students also composed pictures and designs using two-dimensional pattern blocks. The students were able to describe the shapes within a geometric design they made and cover outline puzzles with two-dimensional shapes. Our Journey To Holiness winner was Alanna. She won the award for showing respect towards her peers and teachers at all times.
As part of our last week working on patterning in math, the students had to create a pattern using math manipulatives. |
