Today the students participated in a number of activities in Terry Fox's name. Many students donated money for the Terry Fox Foundation through the Loonie for Licence activities we had. We started off the morning with planting a maple tree in Terry Fox's memory. Mrs. Nancy who takes care of the breakfast program and our outdoor gardens helped us plant the tree in the front yard of the school. We will be calling the tree Terry Fox. Mrs. Nancy also found 3 snails and a slug in the gardens that the students were eager to observe during the morning developmental activity time. Savannah was particularly adventurous by wearing the slug on her shirt. In the afternoon the students took part in a Terry Fox walk around the block. When we got to the front of the school the students admired the maple tree we planted and noted how it had grown. Our day was so busy that we are extending the Terry Fox day for tomorrow when we are having our extra computer time. Great fun was had by all.
