I have also sent home math number cards and/or hundred charts with suggested activities you can do with your child to help them become more familiar with numbers 1-100. Since all the students are familiar with numbers 1-10, I suggest that you test your child with what numbers they know versus what numbers they don't know. Basic counting to 100 as well as being able to count to 100 by 2's, 5's, and 10's is encouraged as we do these activities in school every day.
Starting this week the students will be taking home a book to read for homework during the week. The book the students will be picking will be at their reading level and not the instructional level books that I use during our differentiated guiding reading time. Please read over the 4-day reading plan information that I will be sending home with the book. The reading plan is a guide for parents on how you can help your child with their reading over the week.
