Last week the students were working on Easter activities such as decorating eggs, math activities including jelly bean math, and making an Easter rabbit. We also had enough recyclable materials to begin work on our leprechaun traps. The students drew detailed plans for their traps that they labelled. They found that modifications had to be made due to the type of recyclable materials that were available. Due to Earth Day being next Saturday we will be studying how to take care of the Earth through the three R's (recycle, reuse and renew). All students are asked to reuse recycled materials to make an object, person, or creature for Show and Tell this coming Friday. We will also be learning about the history of Earth Day, working on reusable art activities and writing and taking part in a school yard clean-up. The Earth Day activities will cover curriculum expectations in math, reading, writing, media literacy, science and visual arts.
