The past week was all about activities celebrating Earth Day that was on April 22, 2017 this year. The students presented their recyclable projects explaining what recyclables and fasteners were used to make the objects. Many of the St. James Staff and students have commented positively on the very inventive projects that were made by the students and their families after viewing the display outside our classroom. The students worked on newspaper Earth's that were painted with newspaper brushes. Our next step this week will by composing a written response on what the students can do to protect and care for the Earth. Under Mrs. Nancy's direction each student planted a flower. Mrs. Nancy asked that when your child's pansy is planted at home, please send back the pots so that they can be reused next Earth day. On Friday the students took part in an outdoor cleanup of the school yard. Also please continue to send in AA batteries (only this kind) that are being recycled at school.
