Last Wednesday we reached the 50th day of school. As in the past the kindergartens had a 50's day. Many of the students and teachers dressed in 1950's wear. In the morning the students experienced activities that were popular in the 1950's such as bowling, hula hoops, scooters and having a sock hop. The students were shown how to blow bubbles with Double Bubble gum. Ms. Colaluca, Amirah and NyaLiep blew the biggest bubbles. In the afternoon we compared pictures of popular items in the 1950's with modern pictures of items, popular in 2014. All the students were amazed with the large size of actual records compared to using a CD or even their phone today. We then completed a graph on whether we thought the ice cream would float or not in our ice cream floats. All the students said that their ice cream would float on the graph. We found out that for some students it did, if they did not stir their float too much. The students ended the day with decorating a record as a keepsake of the 50's day. Great fun was had by all!
